Permanent/Semi-Permanent Lip Enhancement
Full, defined, healthy coloured lips are a symbol of femininity and are indicative of a youthful sexy mouth which harmonizes all the features of the face.
For many achieving beautifully shaped full lips with conventional lip liner and lipstick is a challenge. The ritual can be time consuming and has to be repeated multiple times because lipstick tends to smudge and wear off the skin.
Like makeup only better!
Many people are now discovering permanent makeup which frees them from this daily ritual. Permanent make up also known as cosmetic tattooing, semi permanent make-up or micro-pigmentation can be used to perfect lip shape and define the natural lip contour as well as enhancing the natural lip colour giving a healthy appearance to the lips.
Permanent cosmetic lip enhancement eliminates lipstick smear fears and is embraced by the lipstick connoisseur because she can still apply her lipstick or lip gloss as desired and never be bare 24/7.
You too can have full perfectly shaped lips
Beautifully shaped lips are rarely accomplished by guesswork. The permanent makeup artist must be adept in the art and the science of designing the correct shape and look for your individual needs.
The carefully designed lip enhancement must compliment your face shape. If your chin is pointed the skilled permanent cosmetic artist will softly round your lips. If the space between the lip and nose is narrow she will put less focus on lifting the high points of the cupids bow. If the nose is wide she will create a wider spanned cupid's bow making the lips look wider and the nose narrower. All these points will be discussed in your pre procedure consultation.
Shaping lips to combat the ageing process
When designing the lip shape your permanent makeup artist will try to create a full rounded lip shape as this creates a youthful appearance, as opposed to thin lips that have a harsh aged appearance. The subtle lip definition created by lip enhancement will also make the appearance of fine lines on the upper lip less apparent.

To combat aged lips your permanent makeup artist will use her know-how to enhance the bow of the lip placing it slightly above the natural lip line in order to achieve fullness.
If the lip corners turn downwards, your permanent make-up artist will use her expertise to elevate the upper lip (in the region where the black arrows are indicated in the image above) and will blend the newly designed lip line away, slightly short of the lip corners.
In the central zone of the lower lip (in the region where the brown arrows are indicated) the permanent make up artist will position the lip line just below the natural lip contour to achieve an illusion of volume and by lifting the corners of the mouth upwards into a smile, (where the white arrows are indicated) she will create the illusion of a young-look.
Where the lip line has been elevated the permanent make artist will softly shade lip colour down toward the centre of the lip to camouflage the space between the newly placed lip line and the natural lip contour.
Fuller lips
Lips can be made to appear fuller with permanent cosmetic lip enhancement so that little or no other augmentation is needed. In order to achieve this, the permanent make-up artist will design a lip line that follows the natural lip contour at a very slight but regular distance from the lips. If the distance is too great, the end result will appear artificial. To conceal the distance between the lip line and the natural lip contour, the permanent makeup artist will blend a desired lip colour into the body of the lip as in permanent cosmetic lip blush and full lip tint enhancements.
If you do however desire lip augmentation with surgical fillers permanent cosmetic lip enhancement completes and complements the work of the plastic surgeon by adding colour and definition of the lips.
Correction of an unevenly shaped mouth
For those who have asymmetrical lips our skilled permanent makeup artists can define the lips with a lip line that corrects the lip asymmetry. As with the method used to achieve a fuller lip, the permanent cosmetic artist will conceal the distance between the newly achieved lip line and the natural lip contour by blending a preferred lip colour into the natural body of the lip as in lip blush and full lip tint enhancements.
A more discreet mouth
Requests for a more discreet mouth are quite rare. The permanent make-up artist will design a lip contour that follows the natural lip line but this time inside the natural lip contour. The newly designed lip line needs to be slightly stronger than the natural lip colour in order to effectively achieve the appropriate look.
